Healing in Bali

August 29, 2013

The healing properties of our island were made famous in the movie “Eat, Pray, Love”. If you are looking for things to do in Bali, consider designing your own healing program to experience in the comfort of our Bali luxury villa, incorporating whatever modalities speak to you, from herbs to acupuncture to Ayurvedic medicine, and everything in between.

If you are interested in learning more about the healing properties of native Balinese plants and herbs, Bali Nature Herbal Walks  offers tours that teach you to identify and use a wide range of native plants and herbs, while learning about the techniques and practices of traditional and contemporary Balinese herbal healing for everything from first aid to the treatment of chronic illnesses. Or visit Utama Spice  to peruse their selection of natural Aromatherapy products developed using ancient Balinese medicinal knowledge.

Amrtasiddhi, the Ayurveda & Yoga Health Centre will work with you to improve your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being through detox and rejuvenation programs ranging from three to ten days in duration. They also offer Ayurvedic consultations, treatments, medicines and healing activities that promote long-lasting well-being. Kush, in the Yoga Barn, also offers ayurvedic cleanses and rejuvenation retreats.

If you are more interested in the spiritual aspect of Ayurveda, Uma has a retreat for you. Basing her work on the principle that “Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda, in their Tantric context, teach conscious communion with—rather than subjugation or rejection of—Mother Nature (the creative principle),” Uma leads in-depth workshops & yoga tantra teacher trainings based on Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda and Kundalini Tantra.

The Ubud Healing Center has been practicing acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese Medicine in Bali since 1990. In addition to offering consultations, they teach acupuncture courses.

If you’d like to try a little bit of everything, Gaia Holistic is the place to go. Their staff of healthcare professionals are trained in: Colonics, Reiki, Chiropractic, Craniosacral, and Naturopathic care. They also offer classes and workshops.

All of these opportunities are located near our beautiful Bali luxury villa – our staff is happy to make recommendations and answer questions about where to learn about and experience all sorts of Balinese healing.
