Creating Works of Art in Glass or Silver on Your Bali Holiday

July 8, 2013

Bali is known worldwide for its art and design, and we are lucky to have several distinguished artists who practice as well as teach near our Bali villa. If you are looking for things to do in Bali during your stay at our Bali luxury villa, you might consider a class in silversmithing or glassblowing.

Ron Seivertson, an ex-pat from California, creates unique, stunning glass artwork. He runs the Horizon Glassworks Studio in Ubud as an “arena of pursuing the creation of masterpieces and the unprecedented.” Along with his staff, he occasionally offers hands-on glassblowing classes at his studio for both beginners and advanced artists. They will also consider teaching children over the age of 12.

If metal is more your thing, why not try a silversmithing class at WS Art Studio in Ubud? Of all the things to do in Bali, learning an ancient art from a master should rank high on your list. WS Art Studio’s Gusti Ayu comes from a long family tradition of silversmithing. Five grams of silver is included in the price of a half-day silver jewelry workshop, which is sufficient to create a piece of wearable art in the form of a pair of earrings, a ring or a pendant.
